Mondaplen Technology can be applied to huge variety of materials as long as they are flexible and heat-weldable. We can even use materials such as paper or textiles simply by laminating them with a thin layer of thermo-sensitive plastic film.
Expanded polyethylene foam (PE) was the first material to be treated with Mondaplen Technology and it is still the most popular with a majority of our customers in the protective packaging sector.
PE has excellent shock-absorbing characteristics, can be easily die or line cut, forms very strong welds, is available in a wide variety of thicknesses and densities and is also recyclable. It is an exceptional solution for protecting products against damages that often occur in shipping, handling and storage.
Mondaplen technology works just as well with cross-linked polyethylene foam (XPLE) for applications that require superior physical and chemical properties, thermal insulation, low moisture permeability and/or high buoyancy.
When used in the single-face construction, Mondaplen remains flexible even at thicknesses at which a solid sheet of the same material would be too rigid to bend around the curves and corners of the products being protected.
In the double-face (covered wave) construction, Mondaplen reacts progressively to increasing degrees of pressure, returning to its original shape after the shock has passed or the pressure has been removed.
And, of course, it is always lighter than an equivalent thickness of solid material. Beyond Polyethylene, Mondaplen Technology can be applied to polypropylene (PP), polyurethane (PU) and biodegradable polymers.

Mondaplen Technology can be applied to paper stock to create an entirely new kind of corrugated cardboard with exceptional characteristics – its brand name is cArtù*.
Greater flute height, lighter and stronger: our innovative process for producing cArtù creates a flute height of 15mm, yielding 50% more waves than in traditional corrugated cardboard. cArtù is, therefore, able to withstand much greater compression while using much less cardboard.
Better protection: the increased flute height provides cArtù with shock absorbing properties that permit the creation of 100% paper solutions, completely eliminating the use of plastic-based materials.
Flexibility: in the single-face construction, cArtù is extraordinarily pliable, allowing it to bend to form almost any imaginable shape.
Eco-sustainability: cArtù, just like any other corrugated cardboard, is 100% recyclable and can be disposed of along with other paper products.
cArtù can be produced using a wide variety of papers, from recycled stock to high quality kraft, liners and test liners, even with high grammage papers. Above and beyond its packaging applications, cArtù is an extremely attractive material suitable to design and decorative applications.

cushionPaper is extremely flexible thanks to its single-ply structure made from corrugated paper. It easily wraps around objects of all shapes and sizes. It is also an excellent void filling solution. With an ample wave height of 15 mm, you can use it to quickly and efficiently fill voids and block and brace products in shipping boxes of all sizes. It is important to remember that each layer of the final product can be formed from a different raw material to obtain the desired result.
Other than your imagination and creativity, the only limit is that the raw material used for the waved layer must be sufficiently flexible to be pressed into shape and heat welded to the joining material.
As long as one of the two layers being joined is thermo-sensitive, a solid weld can be formed to hold the newly created structure in place.
